Transportation Master Plan
Get involved with the North Perth Transportation Master Plan!
The Municipality of North Perth is developing a long-term strategy to strengthen and support the transportation network within the community. The North Perth Transportation Master Plan (NPTMP) will provide a vision and policy framework for a complete transportation system that will meet travel demands to 2041 in a manner that is sustainable and compatible with future growth. This Study was initiated in early 2020 and we need your help with all things transportation in North Perth: driving, walking, cycling and goods movement.

The cross walk on Wallace Avenue North needs to be signalized. With the amount of traffic going through the centre of Town it is very difficult to see pedestrians trying to use the cross walk. A signalized cross walk would allow drivers to know ahead of time that someone is attempting to cross the street.
Walking west on Elizabeth crossing Wallace - I am amazed someone has not been hit. Due to the road being misaligned 4 feet to the left drivers facing East on Elizabeth wanting to turn left(North onto Wallace) do not see pedestrians. Ask anyone in the Municipal office that walks there at lunch or break. Inkerman (in hind sight) should be a right turn only onto Wallace - driving straight through is more dangerous than the current no left turn option that few people notice either due to poor signage or just do not know that 3 rights make a safer left turn.

A transport truck bypass has been needed for a long time now. This should be the first order of business in my opinion.
With all the construction going on in town sorry to say but the intersection of Main and Wallace is a complete eye sore. I can’t count how many times the road has been patched and now it feels more like a goat path than a main intersection of or beautiful little ever growing town. It really isn’t a public pleaser to draw more business, industry and population. I be lived in Listowel and the surrounding area for over 50 years now ( my whole life ) and I can not remember the main intersection being as bad as it is. Just my opinion but this is an intersection that is heavily travelled on and really should be in better condition. It is nice to expand and grow but don’t forget what has been here for years and what our town grew and expanded around.
Decrease the speed limit on hwy 86 west of Listowel to Line 165 to 50kms
We would like to see Highway 86 heading west made 50km per hour to the corner of the gun club road. Currently it changes to 70km before the corner. The speed has gotten worse since the installation of the round about. Lots of near misses at that corner.
