The future of North Perth
Looking ahead into the future, I envision a community with continued low unemployment, people working in jobs that are challenging to them and pay well. I do not see any marijuana related industries in North Perth, instead industry growth in a wide variety of areas (agriculture, high tech, transportation, manufacturing, service).
North Perth will have post secondary training opportunities in the community so that our youth do not have to leave the community to get training. These training opportunities would be driven by the needs of our community so that we can train and retain our youth and provide retraining for the unemployed. I see training including teaching both hard skills, such as welding and the construction trades, as well as computer related training, etc.
The bypass around the downtown core will be a major driver in the development of new industrial and commercial lands and an improved Highway 86 to Waterloo will keep the traffic flowing quickly and efficiently. Autonomous electric vehicles, both cars and trucks, will allow for increased traffic volume and efficiency around the region.
A public transportation system will be in place to allow fuller mobility for all around the community, including to the new indoor community swimming complex.
I envision new developments in the community with mixed housing that have ample green spaces and trails close by, fully separated from the industrial areas.
