<h2>A Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is coming to the Municipality of North Perth!</h2>To assist in guiding future community improvement activities, supporting economic growth, and providing lifelong vitality, the Municipality of North Perth is researching and developing a CIP. The aim of the CIP is to allow the Municipality to contribute financially to private landowners, to help motivate, facilitate, and support reinvestment, restoration, and redevelopment projects. The creation of the CIP will support the creation of new affordable/attainable housing units across North Perth. In addition, the CIP is also an opportunity to engage the community in a collaborative approach to improving the Municipality&rsquo;s social, cultural, and economic standing. If approved by Council and in place, the Municipality may provide financial incentives, in the form of grants, loans, rebates, and tax assistance, to eligible landowners and tenants to help with physical improvements to private property. The project will also include additional insight into the implementation, marketing, and monitoring strategies to better assist the Municipality with the implementation of the CIP.

In 2023, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth adopted a Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism Charter and established the North Perth Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee.About the DEI Advisory CommitteeNorth Perth’s DEI Advisory Committee was established in May 2023. The mandate of the DEI Advisory Committee is to provide North Perth Council feedback, guidance, and support to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Municipality of North Perth.The Committee is comprised of a diverse mix of community members, and a Council representative and is supported by designated municipal staff.The Committee has adopted the mission to “Identify and eliminate barriers to the Municipality’s programs, services, and policies to make North Perth a community that is inclusive, where residents, businesses, and visitors feel welcome and are engaged.”We Want to Hear from You!The DEI Advisory Committee wants to hear from our fellow community members. <h2>Get involved with the North Perth Transportation Master Plan!</h2>The Municipality of North Perth is developing a long-term strategy to strengthen and support the transportation network within the community. The North Perth Transportation Master Plan (NPTMP) will provide a vision and policy framework for a complete transportation system that will meet travel demands to 2041 in a manner that is sustainable and compatible with future growth. This Study was initiated in early 2020 and we need your help with all things transportation in North Perth: driving, walking, cycling and goods movement.<hr>Notice of Master PlanDRAFT North Perth Transportation Master Plan Available for CommentStudy OverviewThe Municipality of North Perth has prepared a Transportation Master Plan outlining the long-term strategy to strengthen and support the transportation network serving the community. Aligned with local, Perth County and provincial plans and policies, the Transportation Master Plan provides a vision and policy framework for a complete transportation system in a manner that is sustainable and compatible with future growth. The plan details facility improvements and supporting policies and programs to meet transportation needs to 2041, including recommendations on:<ul><li>Roadway classification changes and design guidelines;</li><li>Truck routes to divert non-local heavy vehicle traffic around Listowel;</li><li>A Traffic Management Protocol and related policies for responding to traffic-related queries and concerns; and</li><li>Improvements to the Municipality&rsquo;s pedestrian and cycling networks.</li></ul>The Municipality completed the study following Master Plan Approach #1 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, with preparation of the plan at the conclusion of Phase 1 (opportunity statement) and Phase 2 (alternatives assessment) of the planning and design process.Engagement and ConsultationThe study included a public consultation and stakeholder engagement program designed to obtain feedback from North Perth residents, Indigenous Communities, key stakeholders, and other technical agencies. The program featured three rounds of outreach, with opportunities to participate in online and in-person (where permitted) consultation events promoted through the Your Say North Perth website, newspaper advertisements, social media, and mailed/emailed notices. Input received informed and directly shaped the recommendations of the Transportation Master Plan.Consistent with Master Plan Approach #1, the Municipality completed the study at a broad level of assessment. This planning process did not identify any new Schedule B or C projects for future implementation.Public Review PeriodThe Municipality of North Perth Council received the draft Transportation Master Plan on December 11, 2023 and directed release of the document for public review. The Municipality is now receiving comments on the draft report until February 5, 2024.
